A few words from our President—Lion Mike Griffis

It’s been a great year so far.  We’ve had 2 parades—our most recent one for Columbus Day on Oct 12.  We had a great turnout and had a good time.  That’s me in the Lions Costume.

We’re looking forward to a productive and fruitful year.

On our schedule we have a Frontier Days carnival in the last weekend of March.  Our big fundraiser for the year!  Also in the works:  a golf tournament, an invitational dinner and raffle, working with our zone clubs in the County fair, the Swamp Buggy Parade, Election Precinct Adoption, the Edison Parade, and a couple of White Cane Days.

We have at least 3 election days ahead of us.  This is where we work as a team in a voting precinct.  A team of 9 club members work the full day of voting—a day’s earnings for the club comes to about $1300.00.  A great way to serve our community and benefit the club.

We’re also gearing up for the Cabinet meeting (mini-convention) we’re hosting in April 2008.  We are looking forward to shining for our District Governor.

Lion Bill Arthur receives an International Presidents Award

Our own Lion Bill Arthur attended the last Conference in Fort Myers and was presented with the prestigious International President’s Certificate of Appreciation.  International Director Steven Scherer is shown here presenting the award to Lion Bill.  This certificate of appreciation is well deserved by Lion Bill.  He is a dedicated charter and lifetime member who quietly works and helps in every endeavor we attempt.  He is also a recipient of a Melvin Jones Fellow awarded from the club.   Thanks,  Lion Bill for all you do.

Welcome to our new members for September and  October

Welcome to Lion Dusty Hubbard and Lion Russell "Rusty" Jones, sponsored by Lion Mike Griffis
